BUSINESS INCENTIVE PACKAGES

  1. Trego County Economic Development Entrepreneur-Business Enhancement Fund ( EBEF).  For more information contact Jody Zeman at 785-743-5785 or email.
  2. The City of WaKeeney and Trego County will consider Industrial Revenue Bonds (IRB's) on a case-by-case bases.
  3. A portion of the City of WaKeeney's investment on qualified projects will provide water and sewer infrastructure to property line for new development within the city limits.
  4. Trego County is part of a Neighborhood Revitalization Plan area which gives property tax rebates for five years on qualifying new or existing businesses, commercial, agriciultural or residential structures.  Guidelines are as follows:

     
    Criteria for Agricultural, Commercial & Industrial Properties
    New & Rehab Projects
    $10,000 + increase in Assessed Valuation
    (Equates to about $40,000 in appraised value depending on type of business)
    Year 1 90%
    Year 2 70%
    Year 3 50%
    Year 4 30%
    Year 5 10%
    Criteria for Residential Property
    New and Rehab Projects
    $5,000 + increase in Assessed Valuation
    (Equates to about $43,000 in appriased value)
    Year 1  90%
    Year 2  70%
    Year 3  50%
    Year 4  30%
    Year 5  10%

  5. Trego County has a Micro-Loan program to help new business or expand an existing business.  Maximum loan amount is $15,000.  A minimum of one to five jobs must be created.  Priority is given to low to moderate income applicants.  Contact the Trego County Economic Development office, 216 Main, WaKeeney, KS , 785-743-5785 for further information.
