CITY OF WAKEENEY
WaKeeney, KS, the judicial seat of Trego County is located along I-70 and KS Hwy 283. The town was founded in 1878 by James F. Keeney and Albert Warren, who purchased the land from the Kansas Pacific Railroad Company. WaKeeney is located 300 miles from Denver and 300 miles from Kansas City. WaKeeney's population is approximately 1,892 people.
