Trego County has received a $150,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to help local for-profit businesses retain jobs for low-to-moderate income people. CV funding can assist these businesses with issues triggered by the Covid-19 virus and when no other funds are available.
Trego County will begin accepting applications for CV assistance on August 1, 2021 until August 31, 2021.
Eligible working capital expenses can include: inventory/supplies, utilities, payroll/wages, rent, property taxes, insurance, postage, advertising, etc.
Ineligible: construction, existing debt, contract labor, and city/county owned utilities.
Applications can be picked up at the Trego County Courthouse in the County Clerk's Office located at
216 N Main St, WaKeeney, Kansas. Please contact Lori Augustine to request an application by email.
Applications should be completed and dropped off at the Trego County Courthouse during business hours
(8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Our CDBG Grant Administrator will review applications for completeness and eligibility. After that, the Trego County Commissioners will review and award funds based on review of demonstrated need with funds available.
Should additional funding remain after August 31, 2021, Trego County will advertise for Round 2 funding.
Trego County is accepting sealed bids for a remodel project at the Courthouse. Project information can be picked up at the Clerk's office; Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bids need to be returned to the Trego County Clerk's Office in the Courthouse located at 216 N Main St, WaKeeney, KS 67672 by 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 21st, 2021. Trego County has the option to reject any and all bids.
