Women, Infant & Children (WIC)
The mission of this program is to improve health status and nutritional well-being of Kansas through access to: quality nutrition intervention services by a registered dietician; breastfeeding promotion and support; substance abuse identification; nutrition education, and integration with and referral to other health services. WIC provides supplemental foods for women, infants and children under age 5. These foods include: fruits, vegetables, milk, cheese, eggs, 100% juice, whole grains, beans, canned fish, peanut butter, and cereal.
We participate in the Immunize and Win a Prize! Contest. This outreach project provides infant Tylenol, stickers, digital thermometers, Sippy cups, hand sanitizer, and Band-Aids to families each time they bring their child in to be immunized. ALL children birth to age 2 are eligible for this program. An incentive is provided each time the child gets immunizations. Each participant will be entered in a drawing when they complete their immunization series before the age of 2. This drawing could win them a $200 credit to the utility bill of their choice.
