A New Day for the Old 40 is a new campaign created by the Trego County Economic Development.
This is being introduced as an opportunity to celebrate the history of The Old 40 - the Main Street of America. Businesses along and/or near the Old 40 throughout Trego County are invited to take part in efforts to brighten up Barclay in WaKeeney and on the 40 throughout the county.
Further, if any businesses are considering transition - such as sale of the business and/or the building itself, owners are welcome to contact Cheryl to find out upcoming options to take part.
All businesses are eligible for "lot clean up" assistance as we ready ourselves for an Investor Invitational in April 2023. Visitors/Investors will see this exciting occasion (during Buzzard Bash 2023), see what Trego County has to offer, and become a part of our community!

Applications will be received by the Trego County Economic Development Office, and evaluated by the TCED advisory Council at their regularly scheduled meetings; the 2nd Wednesday of each month beginning February 9th, 2022.
- Several Loan Programs/Grants require a Business Plan be submitted with your application. Additional free assistance can be secured through the Kansas Small Business Development Center's Website. All assistance is free, just start up an account and the Kansas SBDC will be a valuable resource for you!
